HESCO - Accommodation Bunker (HAB)
Protection from Indirect Fire Weapons
Hesco Bastion Ltd have recently developed an accommodation unit which provides side and overhead protection from the effects of indirect fire weapons.
The unit is designed to house 8 persons with an approximate space of 2m x 2m each. Headroom inside is up to 2.16m.
The bunker kit is delivered onto site in 2 wooden crates. These crates hold all the components for the bunker and indeed form part of the structure themselves. Everything required is provided in the kit less a qty of plywood and the fill material.
A simple toolkit is also provided to ensure that those constructing the bunker have such tools as string lines, tape measures and spirit levels.
Two bunkers can be built in two days by one section of soldiers assisted by a loading shovel. The bunker can be fitted out for air conditioning, heating and other services by using the factory formed aperture placed at one end.
Further details can be provided on request

AUSA 2007 (Association of the US Army)
8th - 10th Oct, Washington DC, USA
Hesco recently exhibited at AUSA, an exhibition billed as ‘The World’s Largest Land Warfare Forum’, in Washington DC, USA. Attended by over 30,000 visitors, AUSA is a showcase for all the latest military technologies, with over 500 exhibitors displaying the latest hardware.
Once again, Hesco held centre court with their ‘Jimi’s Bar’. Now deemed an institution at this event, it’s the place to meet and have an ice cold a beer – on Hesco. Based around a bar made from Concertainer® units, combined with an imaginary ‘sunset’ graphic, Jimi’s Bar showcases Hesco’s products by recreating the feel of relaxing at a bar as the sun goes down on a base somewhere in the Middle East.
In addition giving away free beers and talking about Hesco products, the staff running the booth also raised over $2,000 for the Army Emergency Relief Fund (AER), a charity that provides financial assistance to soldiers and their families. AER helps with emergency financial needs for food or rent, for medical or funeral expenses, and even gives undergraduate level education scholarships to children and spouses of Forces personnel.
